Google is experimenting with new "local business cards" in search results. That's our long-term, not Google's, but it's a reasonable explanation of a new cards carousel test that features content from local businesses near to the top of search results.
It is what first discovered by Mike Blumenthal, but I have confirmed with Google that this is indeed a test. Regional business cards are made on the screen functionality as same candidate credit cards, launched a couple of weeks ago.
Under are two screenshots that showcase local businesses engaging in the test: healthful choice massage and break free pod comics.
At the moment this is a real experiment of non a "few dozen" local businesses that Google approached. It's every custom content and certainly not being sucked from my Yahoo business or any child of other feeder of type. It's so noteworthy intended for the fact it signifies the first time that Google has introduced or perhaps allowed animation/GIFs on the search results page.
The format which created with mobile users in brain but it equally exhibits in PC results. Upon the desktop, local custom made business cards quickly appear adjacent to the ability panel featuring that business (as in the examples previously mentioned and below). On portable it's below the understanding equivalent Panel.
As with the candidate cards, the intent is always to allow the business to communicate anything directly in search effects – content or data highlighting the business' services or products in ways that knowledge the Panel doesn't quite allow. Content is likewise shareable directly from inside the carousel.
The feature could be quite significant for local SEO, but Google has obviously made no decisions about whether it wants to rotate local business cards away more broadly or whether larger enterprises (i. Elizabeth., national-local businesses or franchises) would be able to participate.
